Showcasing Sustainability: Running on Sustainable Energy

Developed as a proposal in their Engineering Management class, these students installed an electricity-producing treadmill in the Steve Tisch Sports and Fitness Center on the Medford/Somerville campus. This treadmill has the potential to save 3 tons of carbon emissions over a five-year period, and the project team hopes to expand this initiative over time.

This project was funded by the Tufts Green Fund – fall applications now open.
