Friday, June, 8th, 2018
On July 12th, the twelve offices that completed the Spring 2018 Green Office Certification Challenge will be recognized at a ceremony and reception with President Monaco on the Medford/Somerville campus.
The following twelve offices were certified:
- Admissions and Financial Aid (Fletcher School of International Affairs)
- Research Administration (Dental School)
- SMFA Admissions
- Tufts Technology Services
- Academic Affairs (Dental School)
- Office of Institutional Research and Evaluation
- Hospital Administration (Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine)
- Latino Center
- Stockholm Environment Institute
- Office of CIO, Tufts Technology Services
-
The Deans’ Suite (Dental School)
-
Center for Engineering Education and Outreach (CEEO)
In order to become a certified Green Office, office members had to complete a guided 12-week program. Each week, the representative of each participating office received an email from the Office of Sustainability containing several action items that must be implemented in that week. Each task either fulfilled or helped to fulfill a criteria on the Green Office Certification checklist.
Some of the actions that help offices receive certification include:
- Composting in the office
- Purchasing 100% recycled paper
- Turning off all office computers at night
- Tracking the office’s progress toward achieving sustainability goals
