Tufts received a Green Award from the City of Medford in the 2012 Harvest Your Energy Festival last October. Energy Committee Chairman Fred Laskey and Mayor Michael McGlynn presented the award to President Tony Monaco, who invited Recycling Manager Dawn Quirk, Sustainability Director Tina Woolston and Director of Facilities for Technical Services Betsy Isenstein to accept the award on behalf of Tufts.
Green Awards are a new part of the annual Harvest Your Energy Festival held in Riverbend Park, Medford, at the base of the city’s wind turbine. Tufts was among 11 local businesses and 10 residents recognized with a bamboo plaque for energy efficiency, conserving water, and environmental advocacy. Other winners included Whole Foods, Shaw’s Supermarket and Grace Church.
