Sustainable Solutions Fellows

Matthew Gallagher (he/him) is a second-year masters student in the MALD degree program at the Fletcher School. His fields of study are International Environmental Policy and Global Governance. He is passionate about climate finance, geothermal energy, and direct air capture. He has previously worked for the American Society of Landscape Architects, with a focus on biodiversity, water, and national parks. In his free time, he enjoys writing, exercising, and testing new oreo-based recipes.

 

Jane Maloney (she/her) is a second year graduate student in MS Sustainability program and earned her BS in Environmental Science from Saint Michael's College in Vermont. She works for a nonprofit land trust stewarding open space and engaging community members west of Boston. Jane is passionate about cultivating deep connections to place, supporting local food systems, and making nature and sustainable living more accessible. Outside of school and work you'll find her biking by the Charles, at the community garden, or hanging out with her dog, Maeby.

 

Alexa Dattner (she/her) is a senior pursuing a bachelors degree in Environmental Studies in the school of Arts and Sciences. She is passionate about sustainable development, environmental justice and corporate responsibility in the context of climate change. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer with the Tufts Women's Club Soccer Team, spending time with friends, hiking, and skiing.

 

Maya Wu (she/her) is a sophomore in the A&S program planning to pursue a bachelor’s of science in biology. Maya is passionate about environmental education (especially with the younger generations!) and initially became interested in climate issues after participating a local leadership program that equally emphasized learning and active solution taking. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis, cooking, listening to music, hanging out with her dog, and exploring the city.

 

Dahlin Allport (he/him) is a sophomore from Emmaus, PA, planning on pursuing a degree in chemical engineering. He loves the outdoors from hiking and kayaking to snowboarding and climbing, and is passionate about protecting and preserving our environment and natural resources. This summer he has worked as a guide in Alaska, taking guests on unforgettable tours while voicing the importance of protecting those beautiful ecosystems and wildlife. Dahlin is a proud middle child who deeply admires his older brother Ty and younger sister Alex. He loves dogs and is especially partial to his 3 labradors.

 

Maddox Weisz (he/him) is a senior majoring in Environmental Studies and pursuing minors in Economics and Entrepreneurship. He is from Somerville MA, and is passionate about clean energy, and climate justice. He spent the past summer working to expand clean energy incentives to communities throughout Cambridge and is excited to continue to work towards a more sustainable future as a sustainable core fellow. Outside of academics, you can find him cooking, playing ultimate frisbee for the BMEN, and biking with friends.

 

 

Bergen Kane (she/her) is a junior from Washington, DC studying Civil Engineering. She is passionate about transforming energy systems to reduce carbon emissions. Her past experience includes interning in the Substation Engineering department at Pepco Holdings and the Options Solutions Engineering department at National Grid. She is also a captain for Club Lacrosse and a project lead for Engineers Without Borders In her free time she enjoys running, cooking, and listening to music.
