The University Copier Program provides Konica Minolta Multi-functional Device (MFD) copiers that print, copy, scan and can provide fax capabilities at a lower cost to departments. These multi-functional devices have a small physical footprint, consume less energy, and are less costly than printing to a local desktop or network printer. These devices are for departmental use only, and should not be used for personal copies.

Some key points are:

  • Printing is Cheaper: Printing on a Tufts MFD costs a little less than 2¢ per page, whereas printing on a desktop printer costs upwards of 10¢ a page for black & white printing and 40¢ per page for color printing.
  • Secure Print: With private printing you can attach a password to the document so that it only prints when you input the password on the machine. This helps protect the privacy of sensitive documents. Find out how.
  • Easily Scan Documents: Scanning and sharing documents on-line decreases the amount of paper used. Click here to find your printer and learn how to scan.
  • Double-sided printing: Printing on both sides of the paper saves paper, and many MFDs and computer default settings automatically do double-sided printing. However, if yours has not been changed – you can change the settings yourself! Learn how.

For any other questions, you can use the Konica Minolta training videos available here or contact the contract manager in the Purchasing Department.

Did you know that you can change many of your printer’s default settings so you don’t need to change them each time you print a document?
