- Do you ever wonder how energy use in your office relates to climate change?
- Have you ever thought about planning a green event for your office?
- Has your office started a cool eco-initiative?
- Would you like help increase the recycling rate on campus?
IF SO, BECOME AN ECO-AMBASSADOR!
The Office of Sustainability at Tufts wants to help staff members – the stewards of the university's departments and offices – make their workplaces more sustainable and to serve as sustainability resources within their offices or departments.
In Fall 2008, we launched a pilot “Eco Ambassador” program on the Medford campus that connected staff and students to the sustainability resources on campus. Eco-Ambassadors learned about current and past initiatives on campus; energy generation and use on campus; recycling; communicating the 'green' message; and opportunities for greening on campus. Eco Ambassador Program The 2009-2010 Eco-Ambassador Program will differ slightly from the pilot program, in that the sessions will be spread out over the entire year and will be open to all interested staff. To be recognized as an official Eco Ambassador and be eligible for grants to help launch office greening projects, individuals must attend at least 8 sessions. On the Boston and Medford campuses the sessions will all take place over an extended lunch period (12-2 PM) during the first week of the month (due to holidays, two sessions will take place during the 2nd week of the month) and the Grafton sessions will generally take place on the third Friday of the month (with some exceptions) from 2 - 4 PM. If you would like to join one of these groups please email Tina Woolston at tina.woolston@tufts.edu.
