Boston Ave Shuttle
The university ended the Boston Ave. shuttle route in February 2020 because of low ridership and high expense to Tufts. The 80 and the 94 MBTA bus routes will take you from main campus to 200 Boston Ave. 200 Boston Ave. is a 13 minute walk (0.7 miles) from the Academic Quad, which is the same distance between Carmichael and 574 Boston Ave. If you do choose Uber or Lyft, taking an Uber Pool or Lyft Line is the most sustainable option.
The SMFA/ NEC Shuttle operates between the Tufts University Medford/Somerville campus, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) at the rhino statue and the New England Conservatory (NEC) on Gainsborough Street. On the Tufts campus the shuttle stops at the Aidekman Arts Center. For the complete schedule click here.
Beacon St Shuttle
The Beacon St Shuttle operates between the SMFA's 230 The Fenway Building and the SMFA Beacon St resident halls. Shuttle service is every 20-25 minutes, during the times of 7:45am - 12:00pm and 4:00 - 8:00pm.
For an up-to-date schedule of shuttle departure times from the SMFA and Beacon St, see schedules posted in the Beacon St Resident halls and the SMFA. To access the shuttle's real-time location check the online shuttle tracker and make sure "SMFA/Beacon St Shuttle" is toggled on, or download the Tufts Mobile app. For more information about getting around the SMFA please visit their page Getting Around.
